Antwone Fisher

If any one has seen the excellent movie “Antwone Fisher” a true story directed by Denzel Washington and starring the director and Derek Luke, you’ve heard this poem. It touches my heart, really. It was written by the real life Antwone Fisher, a poet and author.
“Who will cry for the little boy, lost and all alone?
Who will cry for the little boy, abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy? He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy? He never had for keeps.
Who will cry for the little boy? He walked the burning sand.
Who will cry for the little boy? The boy inside the man.
Who will cry for the little boy? Who knows well hurt and pain.
Who will cry for the little boy? He died and died again.
Who will cry for the little boy? A good boy he tried to be.
Who will cry for the little boy, who cries inside of me?
'Who will cry for the little boy' by Antwone Fisher is a small book of poetry that packs a mighty punch. Filled with poems that tantalize just about every emotion, Fisher treats readers to a voyage into his inner being. WHO WILL CRYpoetically chronicles Fisher's development from a troubled boy into a man who has fully taken control of his own destiny.
These poems are poignant and emotional. They evoke a sense of intimacy which makes you want to hug the writer, wish for a love like he shares, and wipe away the pain that he has felt. WHO WILLCRY FOR THE LITTLE BOY is a satisfying collection of poetry that will stir up a bevy of emotions in readers and sate them at the same time.
